Good Snorkeling in Florida... East Coast or Keys???

Want to go snorkeling in Florida in Feb and I%26#39;m flying into Tampa. Was wondering if anybody would know if snorkeling up near Honeymoon St. Park / Caladesi Island or in Marathon (in the Keys) would be better???

I can only imagine that the snorkeling would be better in the Key%26#39;s.

Which would be better I meant- Things like daily temp.,calm waters, crouds of people, etc....

I think the Keys would be much better. Reefs and no big waves. Tropical fish. Talk to the snorkel boat comapnies up there and the ones here in the Keys and see what they say.

If you want a nice sand bottom with some fish and shells, the west coast should be fine. If you want to see coral reefs and the sea fans and reef fish, you go to the keys because that is where the reef is. It is out a few miles from shore so you need to take a boat to get there. Supposedly there is some snorkeling from shore at Bahia Honda State Park and also in Key West at Ft. Taylor State Park.
