Pre-cruise for two nights

Able to book laqst minute on the Cayamo cruise. Rooms reserved for pre cruise are sold out- Marriott and Radisson Biscayne.

Thiught I would give South beach a try and looking at Park Central. I am solo so mostly relaxing at pool/beach . nice meals and drinks at a great bar are priority. Not going cheap but why spend extra if I don%26#39;t need too.

Looking for input on staying at Park Central, what to expect for taxi fare from FLL to hotel and then from hotel to port. Am Ibeter off hiring car service or taxi? Ideas for single late 40%26#39;s gal for dinner and drinks.

Some random comments:

Taxi cab from FLL to SoBe (South Beach) is very expensive. It may be cheaper renting a car from a national brand and then returning it at a local SoBe location. All of the major brands have offices in SoBe. Search FLL and Lauderdale on this web site for other transportation options.

Never stayed at Park Central so can%26#39;t speak to it. Don%26#39;t worry about meals or a bar as you can walk to tons of restaurants, shops, clubs, bars, etc. from any hotel in SoBe.

Walk Lincoln Road for tons of restaurants.

Check out Mangos on Ocean Drive. It%26#39;s a great place for late 40%26#39;s - such as me! I was just there a couple nights ago and had a blast.

If Park Central doesn%26#39;t work out, check out DoubleTree Surcbomer. That%26#39;s were we usually stay. Great pool, great beach access, lots of lounge chairs by the pool to layout. Next door is South Seas which is fine and maybe a little less money.

Cab from MIA is $32 flat rate to any hotel on SoBe. ';Remind'; the driver when you get in. Cabs have dispatchers outside arrivals. Supershuttle from MIA to any hotel on SoBe. is $18-$19 flat rate. You also pick them up outside arrivals. Supershuttle has a monopoly %26amp; they pick up continuously. Look overhead for the blue Supershuttle sign outside arrivals. The dispatcher%26#39;s desk will be under it. Cab to Port will be about $20-25.

The Park Central location is almost excellent. It is right in center of the action. That%26#39;s the problem. SoBe runs all night. The News cafe which is open 24 hrs is next door. If you want to sleep, ask for a back room away from the street. Walk up Ocean Drive or head to Lincoln Rd. for dinner-drinks ideas.
