Tolls for bridges

In looking over my map, I notice that there appears to be quite a few bridges around the Tampa, St. Petersburg area leading to the beaches. Are these toll bridges? Is so, are that any ways to get to some of the beaches on non-toll roads. Just trying to save a buck!!

Tolls for bridges

Most are not tolls. The 3 main bridges between Tampa and Pinellas county (Clearwater/St. Pete) are not tolls. Then once from into Pinellas, I can think of only one bridge from the mainland to the beaches that is a toll, and that is the Pinellas Bayway at the very Southern tip of St. Pete to Ft. Desoto Park and St. Pete Beach, and that one I think is only 50 cens.

There mainly is 3 main toll roads around this area. The Leroy Selmon Expwy, runs mostly E-W through downtown Tampa. Veterans expwy, N-S in the Western part of Hillborough county (Tampa). And the Sunshine Skyway Bridge that connects the Southern tip of St. Pete with the Bradenton/Sarasota area.

Thanks for the info.

Another question..... My hubby is a Pittsburgh Pirates fan...... When do they start training? I understand training is in Bradenton, but where? We will be in the area from Feb. 9 thru the 12th. I have a feeling we might be a bit early.

How is parking at the beaches on the Clearwater, St. Pete%26#39;s area? Is it free or must we pay?

You will need to pay to park on Clearwater Beach. It is mostly meters.

Parking on the beach can be very hard to find on a weekend, but you normally won%26#39;t have a problem on weekdays. I%26#39;m not sure about St. Pete Beach, but I would think it is also meters in most lots. Oh well, there goes that money you saved on tolls. It is a very nice beach though!

Yes, there are parking meters at St. Pete Beach public beach access areas. I know that at Passe-a-Grille there are special machines where you can use credit cards. The rate is $1.25/hr or $5/day - 8 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week.

Ft DeSoto, voted #1 beach in US a couple of years ago has a 35 cent charge to get in, then parking is FREE, and there is plenty of it. It%26#39;s both beautiful and an incredible bargain.
