What food are you allowed to take into parks?

I cannot eat wheat/gluten and I am guessing I can eat well from the buffet/full service restaurants (based on experience at Disney Paris) but not at the fast food outlets. Also, to keep blood sugar level I like to eat little and often during the day, snacking on fruit/oatcakes etc. I don%26#39;t want to carry loads of food around the parks but wondered are there any fruit stalls in the parks? We were impressed with Portaventura in Spain (owned by Universal) as they had fresh fruit stalls all over the park and lots of places with healthy food. But Disney Paris has nothing like that, even though they claim to have made the kids menus healthier this year, so not sure what the food at WDW will be like.

I do occasionally give in to snack food, it is a holiday after all and I don%26#39;t mind splashing the cash on hols but my 3yr old gets bored in the full service restaurants so it is also about convenience.

Any advice gratefully received, Karen :-)

You will be able to bring a few snacks into the Parks. They just won%26#39;t allow a big cooler and such filled with a meal to feed a dozen people :)

You will be able to get fruit in the Parks. There are alot more Healthy options these days.I won%26#39;t list them all, but have a look at

^ Boy I tell you what, I am so happy that i found this form...This has been a VERY big help with $ budgeting...Love ya lots for his...

Karen,

My son is a super picky eater so we always take food with us into the park - crackers, granola bars, single-serve apple sauce, fruit roll-ups etc. You%26#39;ll see lots of people doing this.

hello, i am not awar of many or any Buffets in the parks in FLA , but you will have no problem bringing in some of your own things. many people do. I muyself start to eat bad when i go to disney, too many quick burgers, all because i want to eating a rush, to get on with events, rides, etc.

we bring granola bars, fruit, small items, i do nto believe you can walk in with a cooler - but they do have lockers if you are carrying too much. and of course, peopel go back to their car, and have coolers inthe trunk!!

Great, thanks so much for all your advice. I will take snacks into the park, at least I know I can get fruit in the park too (has a tendency to get bashed n bruised in my bag!).

K ;-)

Technically you are not permitted to bring outside food or drinks into Disney but Security is fine if you bring in some snacks and water bottles. In fact,if you are traveling with a child and don%26#39;t have some snacks with you...well,you%26#39;ll need them when you are waiting in line. All the parks have fresh fruit stands but it is expensive and not very good fruit. We always bring in fruit, water, granola bars and other small snacks. Much of what they sell at Disney is junk and the kind of stuff we don%26#39;t have in the house so it%26#39;s better to be preparedMany people do not like the of the water in Florida so if you plan to refill bottles at water fountains, bring along some Crystal lite or iced tea flavor packs. It%26#39;s very important to stay hydrated.

What%26#39;s an oatcake?

I have been many times to all of the Disney parks and they have never given anyone I have seen any hassel over the food they are bringing in. We have brought soft-sided coolers that we tucked into the stoller. The security will inspect your small cooler but I have not had any issues bringing anything edible into the parks. This includes sandwiches and snacks for 4 adults and one child. We did this everyday, the child we traveled with was very allergic. But no one asked if we ';needed'; to bring the food in. They are not there to police the food stuffs you bring in. They are checking for guns and bombs I believe.

Have a Magical Day! ;D

Tip;-)

Get everyone who is going with you to take their own backpack and fill it with sandwiches water juice sweets etc etc they wont mind if they see its for yourself and then get a locker ;-)

cheers ;-) wullie
