Casablanca on Laika Lane in Captiva

We rented Casablanca on Laika lane in October 2007 and I thought that I%26#39;d post my impressions of the house.

Location: Great - It%26#39;s on the beach end of Laika Lane. You walk down Laika Lane a couple of hundred feet to the beach. There are only two houses on Laika lane between Casablanca and the beach. The house is also a short 5 minute walk to Captiva village (General Store, Mucky Duck, Otters, etc.) Beach is nice.

The House: It%26#39;s built up (as I sure code requires) on Pilings, so that the first (living-space) floor is up a story. There is garage space, and recreation space on the ground level. This ground level has a ping pong table, eating table, Grill, hot tub, fridge, and an inground pool. The ingroung pool is mostly under the house, so it is a good place to swim if it rains - but it doesn%26#39;t get much sun. we sed the beach on sunny days and were able to let the kids swim in the pool on the day it rained. The pool is heated and is nice and warm.

The first floor has a foyer, a large living room, a large kitchen, and eating area with a long table, a large screened porch and twoo bedrooms. One bedroom has a king sized bed and attached bath. The other bedroom has two twin beds that have direct access to another full bath. There is also a laundry room on this level. Very high ceilings throughout. All very nice! Lots of closet space.

One side of teh second floor has a bedroom with two twin beds and a full bath. The other side of the second floor has a huge master suite. King bed, stting area, screened porch (partila gulf view over the roof of another house) and a beautiful bath. Very nice.

there are stairs from the 2nd floor up a half flight to a roof deck with partial gulf views.

This house would be well suited for two couples or small families to rent.

The house is managed by Royal Shell but can be seen on many web sites in addition to Royal Shell.

We liked this house. no real drawbacks. it is expensive. lower on off-season and if you split it with another couple. I think it was built about five years ago.

Thanks SO MUCH for the review. Casablanca is one of the places none of us knows much about. This review is very helpful!

Thank you for taking the time to submit the house review! We%26#39;ll be on Laika in June and I appreciate you confirming that it%26#39;s an easy walk to the Village.
