Epcot Centre & Disney MGM in one day

Hi!

We would like to visit Disney MGM and Epcot Centre on the same day - Friday 7th March, and would like to know if this would be possible? We will be on foot (no car), only want to do the popular rides and have no kids in tow!

Also is it easy to get from park to park?

Any advice would be appreciated

Regards

Hi,been to the parks many times and i think you will struggle to be honest with you,if you miss some popular rides out there is a chance, also down to how busy it is.If you do go for it i would start in Epcot first then on to MGM.Good luck

Let me tell you....you will be pooped. I would do the oposite of what the last poster suggested due to the park hours on that day. MGM is open until 7 pm and future world in Epcot is only open until 7pm but the World Showcase in Epcot is open until 9 pm....so you get 2 more hours in Epcot.

I managed last year to squeeze MGM and Animal Kingdom in one day...but we HAD to come back this year so we could go a day in EACH park.

Thank you both for your comments!!

Would i be right in saying that although Epcot is open longer than MGM the popular rides in Epcot do close down at approx the same time as in MGM.Also the popular rides in Epcot(e.g Soarin%26#39; Mission Space and test track fast passes are quickly taken for the day, well before noon)That was my thinking when i choose Epcot first over MGM

Boks -- My first impression when reading your post is... if you are two adults without children in tow, you might love Epcot World Showcase. When we visit without our kids, this is the place my husband and I spend our time.

That said, you could do both parks in one day, but I agree that you would be pooped. If you have to do it, I would say get to MGM (now Disney Hollywood Studios, I think) at opening, and move to Epcot next. In that way, you can linger at one of the restaurants in the World Showcase for drinks or coffee/dessert during and after Illuminations.

Between the two resorts, you could take the buses, or MGM bus to TTC, to monorail, or take the lagoon boats between the two parks. All of these methods are a bit slow and tedious, but it can be done.

Enjoy your visit!

If you haven%26#39;t been before, I wouldn%26#39;t recommend trying to do both parks in one dy. But we%26#39;ve been many times and often do just that since-though we do have kids-we know what we want to see at each park and how long it will take. The easiest way to get from park to park is to walk-it%26#39;s about a 30 minute walk and you can stop along the way for lunch or a drink at the Boardwalk. the boat is pretty slow-last time it took us over an hour to get from MGM to Epcot.

This may sound crazy but if given your circumstance . I would go directly to Epcot and ride Soarin%26#39;, Mission Space, and Test Track, then head over to The Studios and work on Tower, Rock n Roller coaster, Star Tours. Then take the boat to the Boardwalk Inn ,grab a bite at the ESPN Zone and go in the back door to Epcot and be sure to see the American Adventure and Oh Canada. Being totally exhausted by then, grab a pint at the Rose and Crown and queue up for Illuminations. You won%26#39;t have any trouble sleeping

HI, I agree with Boston, you can do it but you need to plan and be organised.

Be at Epcot for opening and at the front of the line, go straight to soarin and get your fast pass, then go to Mission space and ride it whilst waiting for fast pass time for Soarin. You could then do Test track, to be honest these are the only rides for adults here that you must do, others can wait.

Then get back on monorail and head for MGM.

Get fast pass for either rockin roller coaster or tower of terror, and ride the other one whilst waiting, another must do is the new stunt show (name slips me at the moment) Beauty and the beast show is good if that interests you.

This means you have done most things.

Personally I prefer Fantasmic firework show over Epcots, but this is a personal preference, Fantasmic is very disney with mickey, princesses, badies etc.

Otherwise head back to Epcot while away a couple of hours in world showcase, catch something to eat and settle down for the fireworks at 9pm. Remember to get a good seat at about 8pm otherwise you wont get close. So a turkey leg and an ice cream usually work here.

It can be done, but plan it well. And be prepared to be tired.

To answer the question

yes, two adults with no kids in tow can go to Both Parks in 1 day and do the popular rides, it is possible

I recomend going to Epcot first, Soarin%26#39; is the most popular ride, get a fast pass and then go do Test Track.

yes, it%26#39;s easy to go from one Park to the other with out a car.

There is no monorail from Epcot to The Studios. You will be wasting a lot of time if you try to take the boat in both directions. A cab might save some time to get from the front gate of Epcot to The Studios. On the return you needn%26#39;t be in such a hurry and will have to stop and eat anyway.
