Fort Lauderdale visit in one day, ideas ?

We plan to visit (from Miami) Fort Lauderdale in one day , what%26#39;s the best itinerary ? Riverside (Taxi boat), Las Olas boulevard, what else ? What%26#39;s the best place to find restaurants at Fort Lauderdale ?

The ';Restaurant Row '; in Fort Lauderdale is Las Olas Blvd. which is a Water Taxi stop, eiteher behind Mangoes or a little further west of that would both be fine to get off and stroll. You%26#39;ll find more restaurants then you can possibly want and most if not all have menus on display. The Water Taxi is your best bet for one day of visiting - $12 pp for an all day pass-not sure what you mean by Riverside- but if you mean the Riverfront- stay away - that is a total tourist trap- catch the Water Taxi elsewhere- (www.watertaxi.com for a map of stops). Even if there is a stop at Riverfront- don%26#39;t bother.

Thanks lulutoo, I meant Riverfront, gonna skip that then ;-) Is it a good idea to park the car at the first stop (Shooters Cafe) and take the water taxi to get around Fort Lauderdale the whole day ? Don%26#39;t want to lose all my time to find parking places. Is there a parking lot or a parking area near the Shooters waterfront cafe where I can park my car the whole day ?

There is a parking garage across from Shooters, but I don%26#39;t know what they charge- and also some metered parking , but it may have a limit on how many hours.

maybe somebody who has been recently knows- we can walk to Shooters where we live !

Here is the website for the parking garage by Shooters. Look at Bridgeside. It%26#39;s $1 per hour, $1.25 after 6pm.

I think Shooters charges $3 to valet park. I don%26#39;t know if they have a limit as to how long you can stay.
