Do you wear casual shoes in restaurants?

I am all for walking around a park in tennis shoes,

but some of the restaurants seem more upscale.

If we were going to a nice dinner at Epcot would

you go back to your room and change clothes and

shoes? How about lunch? Are all of the sit

downs o.k. to be casually dressed? Not picky, but

certainly would not want to be tacky. Thanks.

The only restaurant at Epcot where tennis shoes would not be acceptable is Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian. It%26#39;s more formal dress there. Otherwise you%26#39;ll blend in with everyone else. Some restaurants say that business casual dress codes are appropriate and we follow the suggestion but usually see more casual attire.

At home I am a stickler for appropriate dress. My kids could tell you, I don%26#39;t care if their friends wear blue jeans and crocs out to dinner, WE aren%26#39;t going to. BUT- when we are in disney and are going to dine inside one of the theme parks, comfort wins. I am not going to make my family walk around in uncomfortable clothes and shoes for a day in the parks and I am not going to waste an hour or more out of their day to go back to the hotel and change. Trust me, inside the parks there is no expectation that people will be dressed up, even at the nicer restaurants inside EPCOT. If we are going to Downtown Disney or out to eat in one of the resorts for Dinner then we will usually shower and change, but inside the parks I say don%26#39;t bother, no one else does.

We only have ';tennis shoes'; in our luggage and have never had a problem. Have even eaten at GF in these (although they were toally black ones)

I tend to change for dinner if dining in the resorts, but dine at park TS places in my shorts/capris and tennis shoes/flip flops- basically whatever I%26#39;m wearing to the parks.

I once ate at a table service restaurant in IOA still damp from Bluto%26#39;s water ride!

Most of the restaurants realize you%26#39;re coming straight from parks... or that you%26#39;re still in the park... however, there are a few we%26#39;ve encountered that request no tank tops on men... specifically California Grill at MK and Emeril%26#39;s Tchop Chop at Universal. When you call to make reservations, they inform you of these things. If you question any other places, just check out the websites and they%26#39;ll post if they request more appropriate wear. We have reservations for the Grill this May, and though my husband wears tank tops to the parks, we%26#39;ll just pick up another shirt for him before we head to dinner. He loves it, as it gets him yet another souvenier! LOL

Lunch, casual is fine. Dinner, only place in EPCOT that I change for is Bistro de Paris. I have some nicer but comfortable, walking sandals I wear on days we are going straight to dinner there or maybe, Coral Reef. When doing a resort, signature restaurant, we usually do a quick change. If there isn%26#39;t time I leave nicer, cute sandals or shoes in the car, change as we%26#39;re driving to the resort.

For clothes, I stick in nicer tops, capri pants at the TS restaurants. Nothing fancy, just change out of the clothes I wore all day in the parks (basic tee %26amp; shorts), if say going to Jiko or CaliGrill. FWIW.

I have been and eaten in most of the recognised establishments and the good old Teva%26#39;s have been worn in all of them.

You would be shocked at what some folks wear.

They are very good at over looking certain levels of etiquette because they know most folks are in the parks or away from their dress clossets.

It%26#39;s not about being tacky its about being practical

yogi02,

Unless you go to one of the higher class restaurants at one of the expensive golf resorts or in Dr Phillips, downtown Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland or Longwood no one will care what you wear. Shirts and shoes are the law.

Having said that, undershirts without sleeves, we call them ';wife beaters'; because in every movie the vicious husbands always wear them, are frowned upon even in the water parks.
