If we decide not to use a rental car, what is the cheapest way to get from the airport to the Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort? Thanks

Is it the Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort on Breakers Ave? There are more than one property with that name.

The cheapest way would be to take a city bus, transfer to another bus and than walk 2 blocks. I wouldn%26#39;t recommend that because a taxi will be around $22.

If you are traveling alone there is a shuttle service that charges per person. They are located in a kiosk outside of baggage claim. I think that fare is about $13. A taxi will leave immediately but you will have to wait upwards of 1/2 hour for the shuttle to accumulate enough passengers to make a trip.

Yes, it is the one on Breakers Av. I will be travelling with my husband. How will we know when to change buses since we don%26#39;t know the area? If that is a dumb question...I apologize. Also will we look strange on a bus with our suitcase?

There have probably been stranger things than people with suitcases on the bus.

From the airport take the Route 1 Bus North. Make sure you take a transfer pass. You will want to get off at SE 17th Street. It isn%26#39;t far so pay attention. Once you pass Comfort Inn on your right you are just about there. Walk a little east to the next bus stop. You want route 40. You will stay on that until the bus turns left onto Sunrise. Get off at the first stop after that left turn. Your hotel will be across the street straight ahead.
