I see the Cheyene in Church street has opened again I saw some old Country music shows on DVD and it looked really good. Has anyone been since it re-opened? I saw one post saying it was a dodgy area so does this mean a taxi from International drive? and is it far? Thanks.

The Cheyenne Saloon and Opera House is at Church Street Station, which is downtown Orlando. They have their own website Cheyenne saloon.com and you can also get information by going to orlandosentinel.com and using the search function.
From what I have heard, the area somewhat resemble a building site at the moment, but the developers are hoping that work will be finished this summer, although I have also read in the Sentinel, that there are large financial issues to be resolved.
I am hoping to go myself in November, all being well.
Hope you get the info you need from these sources.

Thanks Prospect.
I checked out their website and signed up for any updates.
I am going over in May for almost the whole Month so if it,s any good I will be there quite a few nights.
I will give a review on my return.
Thanks again.

I drove by Church Street Station Wednesday night around 1:00 am and it was a ghost town--I didn%26#39;t see a single person there. Three blocks away there were lines to get into some of the downtown clubs that were so large that I had to walk in the street to get back to my car. Church Street is dead, and at this point I%26#39;m not sure it will ever be able to be ressurected. It%26#39;s just got too big of a reputation as being cheesey and a tourist trap.
Its really too bad how Church Street turned all touristy. I used to frequent the complex back in the late 1970%26#39;s and early 80%26#39;s and it was a fantastic place! In fact, I was at Cheyenne the night it originally opened. Now that the original owner/developer is back and his original marketing manager is also on board it will be brought back to its heyday.
P.S. Nickle beer night is back on Wednesdays at Cheyenne!

Did you see any of the big names who played there? if so you must have had some terrific times. I have only saw it on DVD. I have been to Nashville a few times though. I hope you can put up with the odd tourist I will try not to stick out too much. I am going to give it a try and I hope you are correct and the management team restore it to it,s former glory.
Regards.
Billy.
