Birthday for soon to be 12 y/o

When we are at PCB at the end of March our son will turn 12..I have been hoping to find out if there is a go-kart park and some place real fun to take him for dinner..any suggestions? He likes the theme type restaurants..like Nascar Cafe, Rainforest Cafe..TIA

He might like the treasure ship for dinner. It has a pirate theme and the restaurant looks like a pirate ship. The food is just ok but that is the only place with a theme in PCB that I can think of. I know there are a few go-kart parks but nothing like the Nascar speedway go-kart park. Emerald Falls has go carts. He may enjoy the maze at coconut grove which is close to super walmart. Since he is 12 he might enjoy Saltwater Grill which has a hugh fishtank right in the center of the restaurant. The food here is much better than at the Treasure Ship. Also check out the new pier park shopping complex lots of new places opening up in there.

Does he like to dance? You might consider Schooners. They have a live band that plays until midnight on the wknds and a few nights a week. If you get there just before sunset they salute the sunset by firing a cannon and then the band kicks up. We go and make a night of it...sunset, dinner, dancing for the kids. Yes, there is drinking but most of the people are very polite and get a kick out of the younger folks ';cuttin%26#39; a rug';. We have 3 girls all w/birthdays this summer so they%26#39;ll be 2 weeks from 17, 12 and a month from 9 when we go. My almost 17 yr old thinks she%26#39;s too cool but the 12 and almost 9 will be out on the floor I%26#39;m sure. Check out the brochures in your hotel lobby for details on when the band will be there but I think weekends are your best bet.

Thanks for the replies.....It is hard to top Disney that we did two yrs ago and will do again next year....Dancing is a no, he hated when girls or anyone wanted him to dance and hit sisters sweet 16....

Wave runners would be cool, but i prefer to rent in destin.
