Which beach?

I am not a beach person at all, so please excuse my ignorance!! How large of an area does Siesta Key cover? Is Crescent Beach the best beach there? Is that the area I should be looking in? I guess I would want a family beach (if there is such a thing).

Any beach in this area is family friendly. This is not a Spring Break destination.

If you want the most beautiful beach, it is Siesta Key Beach, hands down. It was rewarded the world%26#39;s best sand. You will not regret it.

Siesta Key Beach is part of Siesta Key, which has other beaches. But SKB is the prettiest of them all, even Crescent.

Thanks sa vol! Can you recommend a place to stay there (2 adults, 2kids)? So when I am looking for accomodations, I should just search for ';SIESTA KEY';? It will just be for three nights in December.

I am sorry, but I am not knowledgeable at all about places to stay. I saw you also posted to SRQGirl on another thread though, and she knows EVERYTHING! She checks the forums frequently so I am sure you will hear from her fairly soon.

I will try to help with any other questions you have. I have only lived here about 2.5 years, so my experience of the area is limited.

You might want to post the following on the thread you created asking SRQGirl about places to stay. She will want to know:

1. condo or hotel? how many rooms of either?

2. budget range?

3. any non-negotiables? (i.e. on the beach side, pool, walking distance to restaurants, etc.)

These specifics will help answer her answer your questions. I can%26#39;t remember if you wrote about 2 kids and 2 adults on the other thread, but that is important information to add if you didn%26#39;t.

Just to clarify regarding an earlier response...the sand on Siesta Beach is the wonderful white quartz variety but so is Crescent Beach. They are adjacent to one another. It is the Turtle Beach area where the sand is the more coarse type.

Siesta Beach area can feel a bit ';busier'; during peak season because the largest public access point is there. However, I don%26#39;t know if that would be an issue at the time of year you plan to visit.
