I believe the south is quiet and the middle is busy. Is %26#39;Times Suqare%26#39; near the middle or more towards the north.
Is the north nice?
Thanks,
Tanner
Which part of FMB would you recommend?I just returned from a week in FMB. Stayed in a condo 2 very short blocks from ';times square';. Times Square is about 1 mile from the north end of the Island, right where the bridge is. The further south you go the quieter it is. I would return in a heartbeat.
Which part of FMB would you recommend? We stay near Times Sq,on the northern end and enjoy all the activities that are within walking distance near the Sq.
Scuba and Backbay,
Where did you stay?
I stay at a place called Edgewater.
Thanks all for the great information.
I stayed at Marina Village at Snug Harbor. Used my time share for this great Condo. Maybe not for everyone because it is on the bay very near to the bridge, so you do hear the traffic. But for me and my party it was the perfect location.
I don%26#39;t live in FMB, but I was just there on Saturday and I am going to be staying there for a few days in October for a wedding. My impression was that the north end was the quiet end, the middle (by the pier) is where the chaos started, and the south side is all businesses and traffic.
I was surprised by how small FMB really is. The resorts and hotels are literally thisclosetoeachother so I don%26#39;t think anyone has better ';views'; than anyone else - maybe just better accommodations.
I will be staying at the Pink Shell Resort, but there were a ton of other pretty nice looking places in the area. *Nice looking from the outside!*
Good luck!

We stay at the south end of the island and love it. It is quiet, but there are still the amenities you need close by: restaurants, bars, liquor store, marina, movie theatre...just not as much or as varied as in the north end (Times Square). We go to Times Square when we need it...it all depends on what you are looking for. If you want to be able to go for a short walk to plenty of action, stay at the north end. If you want to be able to walk on the beach, enjoy the quiet of the Gulf, do some shelling, go to Lovers Key State Park (terrific place, BTW) etc., stay at the south end.
Frankly, both are good choices, and either way, you wil love FMB...
