Bring lots of $$ ! Eating at Disney is not cheap. Are you staying on site or off site? Do you have the Disney Dining Plan?

Yes clothes are much cheaper in Orlando as are many other items. However, take what you can afford for the hidden extras. By that I mean 6.5%tax which is added at the till and, of course, the tips that you give. Are you staying on site or off? Do you have a car (parking charges) or are you using public transport (taxis?) It all adds up.

For a real good holiday and shopping for 14 days $2000-$2500 .

Hi Butterfly

We are also going in May (what date do you fly?).

There are 5 of us, for 3 weeks. We have asked this question ourselves, and were advised to expect around $1500 for food, I almost fell off my chair! If I eat that much I certainly wont fit back on it!!

Anyway we have allowed that much just for food better safe than sorry I guess. I am an organisational freak and have done a holiday budget planner on which I have broken down all of the costs including an allowance for shopping. I am probably taking more than I need, but I prefer it that way round! In total we will have $4000 in TC%26#39;s. $600 cash. and another 拢2,000 on the credit cards. We have already bought our park tickets and car hire etc so this is purely spending money! I personally think that is way over the top - but we want to really do this holiday %26#39;big time%26#39; as we doubt we will ever get back there again!

Hi

Were going to Orlando in march for 2 weeks. Family of 4, we have been before and yes go with an empty suitcase because you can get lots for your money out there. Last time we took a suitcase full but this time we will take empty cases.

We will take about $1000 dollars cash or travellers cheques and also take our credit cards. You can get U.S travellers cheques aswell we took Travellers cheques last time and they are like cash and you can purchase things from shops and disney, you use them like cash we didnt have to cash them at any bank and with Travellers cheques they are insured if get lost or stolen.

nemmis - $2000 - $2500? we spent $2000 the first time we went in %26#39;94 with 2 kids 5 and 9 exch rate $1.49

us up north know how to holiday properly!!!

butterfly oct 08 just 2 of us eating out (breakfast/lunch/eve meal x 14 days) in/out of parks shopping we spent well over $2500

bottled water any thing from $1.25 for a small bottle (small glass full) 500ml size $2.75 and you will go through lots of it in the parks - burger and fries around $8-9 then add your drink on top

meal deal in universal $20 adult + tax x4(slightly less for 4 yr old) for all you can eat all day in certain restraunts again drink on top thats in excess of $150 in one park on food + drink for 1 day alone should you choose that option

our meal in rainforest cafe in AK - shared starter steak main course each couple of drinks each came to over $60 without the tip

clothes are a lot cheaper we allways top our wardrobe up everytime we go but beacause the exch rate is still really good and most items are so cheap it all becomes too tempting

a good friend of ours spent well over $4000 dollars when they went 06 2 adults 1 teenager 1 9yr old

With regards to the above posting I meant 拢1000 worth of Dollar Travellers cheques.

Take what you can afford, with a credit card as backup.

Second thoughts, take your credit card, with cash as a backup!!

and maybe a gun for a bank hold-up ;-)
