old florida

hi all,

I would like to know just what you mean when you talk about ';old florida';. I have been there many times over 20 or so years. The early years were usually in places like daytona, ft laud, and orland. Now it%26#39;s gulf side spb type places. We love it. But where can I truly find ';old florida'; on our next trip. We are staying at the bon aire. I here that is old florida.

thanks

What I think of as ';old Florida'; can be found at the southern tip of St. Pete Beach in the area called ';Pass-a-Grille';. Small, privately owned restaurants/bars, shops, motels. Small, older homes. You won%26#39;t be far. Go visit. Watch the sunset from the top of the Hurricane. They also have a beautiful beach.

When are you going?? We love the Bon Aire...nothing fancy but friendly people ,clean rooms, great beach! I would have to agree the to the south of the Don Cesar would be my idea of ';old florida';.

We%26#39;ll be there in a few weeks and it can%26#39;t be soon enough.

we will be there from 4/18-4/25. it cant come soon enough.

If you get the chance, you can ';know it when you see it';!

Go see Pass A Grille down at the end, in the strip of small sops and restautrants. Plus the best sugar-sand beach in the area.

Go to the Gulfport waterfront, have lunch or a drink at O%26#39;Maddys and see a view encompassing a fishing pier, the old casino (dances, not gambling), and the small comemrcial area.

Then go (10 more minutes) to Osgood Point to see what the land looked like before all the houses and people came--there are lots of birds and good fishing in the pass. See the inside page at
