Easter weekend

Staying 4 nights over Easter. Want to stay in Marathon or KCB. We are looking for 2br on ocean or bay. Have stayed at continental Inn and KCB motel. Liked Continental Inn but 2br not available. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Tranquility Bay has 2 bedrooms on the bay, but man are they pricey. Key Colony is wonderful because you can actually swim off the beach. Have you tried Cabana Breezes?

They have a beach, a pool, and a nice dock that you can fish off of if you are staying there.

With the exception of the places you have already mentioned, I don%26#39;t know of any 2 bedroom rentals that rent for less than 1 week in KCB.

If you could stretch it from Sat - Sat, you could get a great 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1/2 duplex with Cabana Club privileges for around $1000.

You could try emailing owners directly through vrbo.com, rentalo.com, etc. there%26#39;s a possibility they would make an exception since its kinda the end of the season. Or try the folks at Florida Keys Vacation Rentals: 888-440-0235, http://www.flakeysrentals.com/ they might make an exception? Couldn%26#39;t hurt to try.

Bonefish is on Grassy Key, which is in the City of Marathon, but a little farther from the action. When I say little, I mean just a little. You should enjoy your stay there.

I have visited the Keys 5 times the week between Christmas and New Years. It is one of the busiest weeks of the year here (I am in Marathon as I write this). This year is the first time I saw vacancy signs. Business here is down. You should be able to negotiate a better price than you are first quoted. I talked with one couple at Sombrero Beach in Marathon that showed up a few days after Christmas, were quoted $200 a night for a room, they offered $150 a night and the offer was accepted. In years past you could never do that.

It will be difficult to find a 4 day rental on KCB, especially a 2 br. You would have more luck to rent for the week. If you still want to do 4 days, you might have to rent at the KCB Hotel, and rent two rooms...but for that price, you can rent a home for a week and just stay the 4 days.

I live on KCB and have rentals. No one will rent for less that a week and lose 3 days, especially Easter week. Good Luck!

What I recommend to everyone is while you are down in the keys for your vacation, drive around and pick out places for the following year. Write down the addresses, or take photos. You will want to return.

You will know the the different personalities of the keys.

Then when you book for the following year, you will get the place of your choice.

Thanks all. We had a reservation at the hampton oceanfront up north @$300+ per night. We got a much lower rate at Hammocks in Marathon. Two bedrooms was a tough order for less than a week. I plan to take some picks and review and address the forum.
