I%26#39;m planning a honeymoon for this august and I%26#39;m trying to find a rental house on beachfront property. Are there many of these in IRB, or is mostly condos and other dwellings as parts of complexes? We%26#39;re looking for something private, not a ';condo'; which is just a nice hotel. I saw some cottages that are highly recommended on this site, but I was wondering how close to the beach these are and if the complexes are loaded with people(not very private).
I%26#39;ve read that IRB is a small, unpopulated community but I was looking at the Traveler Photos and all I could see was 3+ story ';condo/hotels'; lining the beach. Ideally we would want a house with a private walk to the beach. If IRB isn%26#39;t really a place with these private houses, could anyone suggest anywhere within an hour or hour and 15 from tampa?

If you look at a satellite photo map of Indian Rocks you see the parts of the beach that have more cottage and smaller properties - they will stand out -the best stretches of the beach are 1- the narrows, 2 - the area near 3rd - 4th avenue and 3 -the beach from 7th to 10th ave. Gulfside Resorts is the highest rated specialty lodging in Indian Rocks Beach with private cottages if want a place with a local owner manager and private beach access - you can find their website in a search and see the private properties
