suggestions for a fab getaway

Florida experts,

We are looking for a 5-6 day trip from New York to Florida for some sun and ocean. We need something w/in a direct flight, 4-5 star hotel/spa on the beach in a beautiful place and someplace warm enough for a beach/swimming, away from very busy traffic, but not somewhere too far from the airport like the Keys. Any suggestions??

I was going to suggest Longboat Key but not for your age (too young, in my opinion). Plus, I think it wouldn%26#39;t be warm enough for swimming by then.

How about Ft. Lauderdale? You could post for a resort recommendation on there. It will be warm, beaches are pretty and it%26#39;s not a really young crowd like South Beach is, but it%26#39;s not a really old one either. We like Ft. Lauderdale...a lot. I am early %26#39;30%26#39;s and husband is 41, but he was 39 when we visited FLL.

Acqualina, in Sunny Isles Beach, direct ocean front and only 20 minutes south of Fort lauderdale airport. It has Espa spa, rated no. 8 on the Conte Naste Travel magazine.

The Los Olas area of Ft. Lauderdale is a fun area for your age group.
