When are the American kids off from school, we%26#39;re travelling out on the 5th July, will they be off school then for two weeks?

Can I ask when they go back to school? We are travelling on th 13th aug for two weeks, usually travel in oct but the %26#39;school police%26#39;banned us from taking the kids out of school.

Usually end of August or right after Labor Day, which would mean they would start tuesday, September 2nd.

The times when American kids are out of school vary from school to school, but it%26#39;s a general rule that most of them are out from Memorial Day (last weekend of May) to Labor Day (first weekend of September).

The exact dates vary within this time frame, but this is consider the ';summer break'; time for U.S. schools.

Unfortunately, July 4th is going to be a very busy time since it%26#39;s the U.S. Independence Holiday. Expect lots of crowds for the two weeks beginning during that time.

From my experience in Florida,school is back in session at least a week before Labor Day.

Orange County FL. public schools start August 18th.

There%26#39;s a great deal of variation in timing for the start and end of summer vacation. I grew up in the South, and pretty good rule of thumb there is that school will end in the second half of May and start back up during around the middle of August. Our kids have a very different schedule up here: school doesn%26#39;t start until the beginning of September, and (at best) the last day of school is in the middle of June.

Typically, you%26#39;ll find that the end of the busy summer season will be sometime in the first or second week of August, when many families are heading back to get ready for the new school year. We used to plan our vacations for the second half of August to take advantage of this, but preseason band and sports practices for our high schoolers have eliminated this window.

Schedules really do vary quite a bit here in the U.S.

Our schools are ';year round';. We start the first part of August and end the last week of May. We get 2 weeks off for every season- fall break (first 2 weeks in Oct.)Christmas (Usually a little more than 2 weeks) and Spring (Good Friday and the weeks following Easter)
