Fly in to VPS, out at PNS...worth it to save $200?

We%26#39;re looking at two flights around 5pm on a Saturday in May, and we can save about $200 if we fly out at PNS instead of VPS. I%26#39;ve read up %26amp; it looks like its only an hour drive, but I%26#39;m not sure if mapquest considers all the variables (traffic, construction, etc). Plus, we%26#39;ll have a rental car that we%26#39;d have to drop off at a different location.

Is there any reason to not make the drive up to Pensacola? Would you fly out of PNS to save $200? I was thinking we could drive up %26amp; have lunch there, maybe hang around for a bit before going to the airport to break up the day. What would you do?

Call the rental car company and see what, if any, penalty you pay for the different dropoff.

PNS saves us the same due to our location -we have made the roundtrip drive to Destin numerous times and it is a very easy roll, depending on the timing of your flights. 5pm inbound could be heavy traffic. Why would you not rent from the airport so you can pick up/drop at that location?

If it is just 200.00 or 200.00 per person for a lot of people? For one or two, I would say it isn%26#39;t worth it. It%26#39;ll cost you 200.00 and an hour and twenty minutes (at best) to get to PNS.
