Beaches/Rentals closer to alabama area

Need good beach/areas suggested to begin this process:

Would like to plan a family gathering 20-30 people,4-5 days..... using a couple of NICE rental properties. Beach front or super close walking. Nice accommodations, beach. Know nothing of Florida, except the Keys that I was able to recently visit.

Driving distances from Texas, so the closer the beach..the better.

Money is NOT unlimited......

Does anyone having experienced this type of vaca/trip have pointers, tips and current information to give?

Accommodations must be clean, nice, feel %26amp; look new.

Don%26#39;t want to be in a run down area,beach,etc. Looking for family/wholesome...Clean, white sand, ocean. No Las Vegas, New Orleans,Atlantic City, Key West party/rated X boardwalk feel.

Would suggest that you actually look at Gulf Shores area in Alabama - sounds like exactly what you want. And, it%26#39;s closer to Texas!
