Ormond Beach Activities

We are traveling to Ormond Beach in mid-April with 4 and 7 yr. olds. Does anyone know of any canoe or boat rides on calm waters where maybe we could see some fish, dolphins, or gators close to Ormond Beach area? And how is the weather in mid-April? Warm enough to go in the ocean? Do we need sweatshirts or jackets for evenings? Thanks for any help!

Ormond Beach Activities

Tomoka State Park is a great place to rent a canoe. Very calm waters. You will see dolphins and gators.

The weather in mid April should be fairly warm. It would not hurt to have a jacket for evening, as it can get windy and cooler. I am a Florida girl, so mid April is still too cold for me to go in the ocean, but many people do! Pirates Cove mini golf is a lot of fun. A quick trip to the Kennedy Space Center is a good day trip. Your kids may also like a trip up to St. Austine to see the fort. There is also a ';Duck'; tour that kids like in Daytona. Also the Marine Science Center and light house in Ponce Inlet! Daytona USA is a little pricy, but my son had fun there.
