Hoping to arrive in Miami Intl. Dec 24 early evening, and staying in a rented apartment (self catering)
Are there likely to be any supermarkets, liquor stores and restaurants open that evening? or Christmas day?

Christmas Eve, yes. Christmas day many of the larger stores will be closed. Some will be open. Most restaurants %26amp; all convenince (eg 7-11) will be open. Last Year Publix, the largest supermarket chain was closed, but Winn-Dixie, the second largest was open.
