if you rent villa and have pool heating

we have booked a villa with thomas cook and requested pool heating for april , you pay in resort , but how does it work , how do they activate the heating in the pool. when you pick up the keys from the rental place do they come with you , give you a code , tell you to flick a switch? I know it sounds silly but how does it work? Thanks

At my own home, if a guest pays in advance for pool heat the management company call the day before and ';flick the switch'; in order for the pool to be warm on their arrival.

If the guest only decides to have the heat on after they arrive, then someone is called out to collect payment and ';flick the switch';.

The ';switch'; is often in a locked box.

With a properly run villa it should be turned on the day before and the cover put on the pool if not already on. So it would be warm first day on the spot.

But in practice, you may have to call the management co to do it when you get in. Unless those before you paid for it, in which case it will be arm but might cool off if it has ben switched off.

Some pool heating systems are locked off so that renters can[t touch the controls (not mine I must add but I%26#39;ve stayed on ones that were).

It all depends on if you are allocated on arrival. And if that means the managment co weren%26#39;t told enough in advance who was staying and what they were paying for.

It should be on when you arrive. Ours was on when we got there at this time last year but it did break at one point. The way to tell is feel the jets they should feel slightly warmer than the pool water. we called management and it was fixed within the hour. However there were signs telling us not to mess as we would be charged if we caused damage.

Most MC%26#39;S will turn it on the morning of your arrival so it will have all day to warm up and be ready for your first morning swim.If it is turned on the day before then heater is going for an extra days heating and no one is paying for it except the owner. However if you are paying in resort then you may well find it is not switched on until you have paid .Unless I have a long gap in my place -which is unusual then my pool heat is on 24/7 over the winter as it saves my mc having to make trips and is more cost efficient but all owners and mc%26#39;s are different.
