Key Largo Marriott

www.marriottkeylargo.com That is the resort%26#39;s website. It is a good choice with the family. Breezers bar is nice - ate there last nite and listened to live music. I have not eaten at Gus%26#39; Grill in a while, so cannot give you an accurate update on it. The Marriott is also within walking distance of the Sundowners restaurant complex and by the time you get here, a brand new complex (Fisherman%26#39;s Village) will be open within walking distance. They are all on Blackwater Sound.

You will want to check out Pennekamp Park about a mile away and possible rent kayaks there.

Pretty much all our activities in Key Largo are on the water.

I hope you are including a stop in the Everglades as part of your trip.

Your family would have a great time at Jacob Aquatic Center - this was listed by my 11 yo as one of the top places for kids in the Keys. It has a pirate theme shallow pool, regular pools and high and low diving boards. It%26#39;s located behind (ocean side) the shopping center at the big intersection in Key Largo (i.e., where the road splits with a CVS in the center median).

Here%26#39;s my go list for a day trip in the Keys. Your group will want to go to Robbies (tarpon) and Morada Bay will be a great dinner choice. The kids play while you have a lovely meal. Buy glow sticks at a local dive shop in advance and the kids will be able to play with them after sunset on the beach at Morada Bay.

Thanks for the info and keep it coming. What is Fisherman%26#39;s Village?

Jacob%26#39;s Aquatic Center is just below MM 100.

Fisherman%26#39;s Village is the former Italian Fisherman Restaurant. The new owners have spent more than a year building it. It is supposed to open this weekend (openings have been postponed for 6 months) and will feature several bars (D-Wade%26#39;s Sports Bar), a restaurant, a swimming pool and several ';penthouse'; condos for sale for $4,000,000. They just finished the landscaping and from the outside, it looks really nice. I have my fingers crossed that it will open this weekend.

We%26#39;ve been in Key Largo for a week now and have a week to go. We come once or twice a year!

W%26#39;ve eaten at the Key Largo Conch House - excellent dinner and coffee (not on the water but your kids will love their parrot), Buzzards Roost - on a canal, excellent food and location. In Islamorada try Island Grill, great food and location.

I would take the kids to Robbie%26#39;s in Islamorada to feed the tarpon, Dolphin%26#39;s Plus to swim with the dolphins. I would also take them snorkeling and rent kayaks at Pennecamp Park.

Fisherman%26#39;s Village is just a timeshare/condo place that looks like will be opening a bar soon. We stopped by but weren%26#39;t interested in buying any real estate.

Fishermen%26#39;s Village still isn%26#39;t open yet. As I posted earlier, only their top floors are for sale. They are attempting to offset the millions they have poured into the place over the past 2 years. It is not ';some timeshare place.';

They will have a restaurant called ';The Big Chill,'; Dwayne Wade%26#39;s Sports bar and another bar. Anyone will be able to use their swimming pool, not just folks who buy into the fractional ownership. I met the owners a few weeks ago and I have known their general manager since he was Food %26amp; Beverage Director at Ocean Reef Club (for 20+ years). Those of us who are locals have high hopes that this will be a good addition to Key Largo%26#39;s dining and drinking scene.
